Laying the Foundations
Overview
Learn about early childhood learning and development from 0 to 8 years, with a focus on the dynamic interaction between child health, learning, development and wellbeing.
Why choose Laying the Foundations?
Laying the Foundations is an eLearning program informed by the science of early brain development, current research and practice-based evidence. The program is suitable for all practitioners who work with children and families, including early childhood educators, GPs and nurses.
Through videos, case studies, questions and skills-based activities, you’ll reflect on how you can support children and families, including those experiencing vulnerability.
Laying the Foundations aligns with Australia’s national Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). This describes the principles, practices and outcomes that support and enhance young children's learning from birth to five years of age, as well as their transition to school. The EYLF is a key component of the National Quality Framework for early childhood education and care.
The program also aligns with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
