New sepsis resource
11/10/2024
The latest inclusion in Raising Children Network’s comprehensive health reference guide is an article on sepsis.
The resource was created to help parents, carers and professionals who work with families to learn about the signs and symptoms of sepsis, which is a life-threatening reaction to a severe infection.
The article was developed in collaboration with health experts and reviewed by parents whose children have had sepsis.
It emphasises the importance of seeking urgent medical help if anyone suspects a child might have sepsis and outlines how sepsis is diagnosed and treated. The piece also includes information about what parents and carers can expect after their child has been treated for sepsis, as well as ways to reduce the risk of sepsis.
The sepsis article is part of Raising Children Network’s comprehensive A-Z health reference tool, which has hundreds of resources providing parents and carers with plain language information about common health topics.
