New inclusion framework for health research

21/10/2025

In order to deliver fully equitable health outcomes, health research must be designed, conducted, and transformed in inclusive ways.

The Health Research for All team has published the Vetting in Health Research Inclusion Framework (VeHRIF) – a practical tool designed to help researchers and organisations assess the inclusivity of capacity building resources.

This framework was developed through the Health Research for All (HRFA) program, a Murdoch Children's Research Institute and Centre for Community Child Health initiative focused on improving inclusive research practices through curated tools and resources. It is currently funded through the VCCC Alliance Health Equity Program and supported by a collaboration with the Digital Health CRC and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

The framework was co-developed with partners and refined through consultation and testing with the HRFA Advisory Committee, which brings together researchers, consumers, and community organisations to ensure the tool is relevant, accessible, and impactful.

Sector collaborators and the broader research community are invited to explore, use, and share VeHRIF and help build a more inclusive future for health research.
