Factors driving educational attainment

The current Australian education system has not been able to shift inequities in educational attainment for over a decade. We are also seeing increased rates of school disengagement. Many factors impact the educational attainment and engagement of children and adolescents.
These factors are interwoven and combine to have lasting impacts, beginning in the early years, as children progress to primary school and throughout secondary school and beyond.
Our submission to the inquiry into the factors driving educational attainment addresses the:
- drivers of any differences in outcomes based on gender, cultural and linguistic diversity, socioeconomic status
- potential evidence-based solutions to raise educational standards and results for learners not meeting standards, including where there is evidence for targeted approaches based on gender or other factors.
